Karnataka BJP candidate dies during election campaign due to cardiac arrest

Bengaluru: BN Vijayakumar, one of strong BJP candidates in the upcoming Karnataka Assembly election, had been died due to a mass heart attack. He is seeking a re-election from Jayanagar, Bengaluru. During his campaign, Mr.Kumar collapsed and had been taken to Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology. The doctors confirmed his death at 1 am today.

He was taken to the hospital on Thursday after he collapsed during an election campaign in his constituency. However, efforts to resuscitate him failed, state BJP spokesperson S Prakash told PTI.

Two time MLA from Jayanagar Constituency

Mr.B. N. Vijay Kumar has represented Jayanagar constituency two times. He was in his sixties and a bachelor. He was a civil engineering graduate. He was known for his simplicity and mild manners. The death of Mr. Kumar will be a loss to the BJP and has to find a new face for an election.
