A nine-year-old boy killed in a vacation park dog assault was alone in a caravan with the animal, police have mentioned.
Frankie Macritchie, from Plymouth, died at Tencreek Holiday Park, Looe, Cornwall, on Saturday.
Police mentioned he was staying on the website with adults however they have been in one other caravan when he was attacked by a “bulldog-type dog”.
A girl described by police as a household buddy was later arrested at a practice station close to Plymouth.
The 28-year-old, held on suspicion of manslaughter, has since been launched.
Det Supt Mike West mentioned Frankie was on vacation for a lot of evenings earlier than his demise.
“We believe that Frankie was alone in a caravan with the dog as he was attacked, whilst the adults that he was on holiday with were in an adjacent unit,” he mentioned.
“These two groups of people were all known to each other and all from the Plymouth area.”
Police have been known as to the vacation park at 05:00 BST on Saturday and located Frankie “unresponsive”.
He died on the scene and a search was launched to trace down the dog and its proprietor.
The 28-year-old girl arrested on suspicion of manslaughter was additionally arrested on suspicion of getting a dog dangerously uncontrolled.
The dog was transferred to kennels, the place it stays.
